Here’s what to do and how we can help
Get into a safe position
Before exchanging contact details, make sure you are in a safe position, away from other traffic.
2. Never admit liability at the scene of the accident
3. Exchange contact details
Take note of the names, addresses and phone numbers of everyone involved in the accident.
4. Take note of vehicle registration number(s)
Take note of the registration numbers, makes and models of any vehicles involved.
5. Take photographs
(if safe to do so)
If safe to do so, take pictures of the vehicles, the registration numbers of the vehicles, and any damage caused as a result of the accident.
6. Photographs of scene
If safe to do so, try to take pictures of the accident scene and anything else you feel may assist us in the handling of a claim.
7. Details of witnesses
Take a note of the names, contact details and addresses of any witnesses present.
8. Notify the Police
if anyone is injured
Notify the Police at the scene of the accident if any party is injured.
9. Contact Haven to initiate
the claims process
Any accident/incident which may give rise to a claim must be reported to Haven within 24 hours of the accident/incident occurring.
